Modal Verbs "can"

"Can" juga termasuk di dalam salah satu "modal verbs" atau "modal Auxiliary verbs". Arti dari "can" sendiri lebih cenderung diartikan: bisa.

Pola Kalimat:

S + can + verb1 + ...


Contoh kalimat:

"I can ask him to come to your house tonight if you like"
"Can I use your telephone, please?"
"She can not go there"
"Can you tell me where we can find the taxi?"


Kapan digunakan?

"Modal verbs can" digunakan untuk hal-hal yang khusus.

Ketika meminta melakukan suatu pekerjaan
Contoh:
"Can you help me, please?"
"Can you speak English?"
"Can you tell her where I can meet her?"

Ketika mengungkapkan kesanggupan
Contoh:
"I can speak English very well"
"She can go with you"
"He can fix my car"
"I am affraid I can not come to the party tonight"

Ketika meminta suatu izin ("permission")
Contoh:
"Can I go with you?"
"Can I have take a picture here, please?"
"Can I have two more cups of tea, please?"

Mengungkapkan pembolehan ("allowed")
COntoh:
"You can enter that building"
"You can use my pens"

Modal Verbs "will"

"Will" adalah salah satu bentuk "modal verbs", ada juga yang menyebut sebagai "modal auxiliary verbs".
